Hi, my name’s Louise Cusack and I’m an Australian award winning author whose best-selling Shadow through Time fantasy trilogy with Simon & Schuster was selected by the Doubleday Book Club as their ‘Editors Choice’.  This trilogy will be released digitally by Pan Macmillan in 2012.  My website for readers is here.

As well as writing novels, I’ve been a Writer in Residence at the Queensland Writers Centre and have tutored over 80 writing workshops for various organisations: the Qld Writers Centre, the NSW Writers Centre, local councils, libraries and schools in Brisbane and regional Queensland.  I’ve also done manuscript assessments for over 150 clients and have conducted writing retreats and residencies working with writers in the genres of fantasy, romance, erotica, young adult, action adventure, memoir, literary fiction and women’s fiction.

In 2006 I presented the Queensland Government’s Queensland Writing Showcase to top  New York speculative fiction agents and publishers at the very swanky 21 Club! 

I’ve worked with a production company to develop a computer game for children which unfortunately didn’t get off the ground, and in 2009 attended the South Australian Film Commission Crossover think tank in Adelaide to create cross-media ideas and develop projects.

I’m currently writing two fantasy novels while on leave from a Research Masters in Speculative Fiction at QUT.  I ran away from home (Brisbane) and moved to a gorgeous seaside village at the southern tip of the Great Barrier reef where I eat delicious fresh local produce (the strawberries are divine!), listen to the ocean and write up a storm.  Below is a picture of my favourite thinking spot!
